9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Dix Hills, NY

Join us for an empowering three-hour clinic led by Coach Brooke DeRosa and Amanda Ferranti, aimed at transforming female soccer players. This clinic will provide your player with essential skills to cultivate mental strength and resilience. We will focus on the critical moments following a player’s decision. How do they react? Are they overwhelmed by emotions and negative thoughts or do they regain composure and concentrate on the next play? It is vital for all players to accept the outcomes of their choices, and in this clinic, we will share practical strategies to navigate these moments with confidence and ease.

Clinic Highlights:

1. Build awareness of reactions after decisions:

  • Identify common triggers
  • Connect with emotions, thoughts, and physiological responses
  • Learn to respond, not react

2. Develop a routine to manage negative reactions:

  • Cultivate mental resilience
  • Manage external forces
  • Determine your preferred actions

The players will warm up by engaging in a competitive Rondo. This is an excellent activitation activity because it focuses on all facets of the game.

    9:15-10:45 AM Decision-Making Training

We will teach the players how to scan for important visual cues in order to make effective decisions both on and off the ball. Additionally, we will discuss the role that scanning plays in mental strength and consistent performance.

    10:45 - 11:15 AM Mental Skills Training

The players will be given an educational and experiential lesson on what it means to respond, not react. They will actively create a routine that is personalized to their needs and can be used in real-time to manage triggers and accept the consequences of their on-field decisions. In doing so, they will have a tool to maintain resilient in the face of the natural adversity in the game.

    11:15 - 12:00 PM Game

Free play is essential for young players to develop their decision-making autonomy. During the game portion of the clinic, players can apply what they’ve learned while enjoying the game with their friends.
